Relationship problems: Most of us do better when our relationships are going well. When they are not, many aspects of our lives can suffer. Together we will explore what is working, your strengths and what may not be working. I believe that anyone can improve their relationship skills and improve their connection and intimacy. Together, in individual or couples therapy, I can help you to address this vital part of your overall wellness.
Depression and Anxiety: I have extensive experience helping people minimize symptoms and learn effective techniques to feel better. Together we will map out a plan to help you feel better. I ran a Depression Program at a large hospital for many years. I’ve learned what is helpful and I will share this with you. I can collaborate with your MD if needed.
Work Stress and Occupational challenges: I can help you manage job stress and learn to have balance in your life. Psychotherapy can help you perform at your best, while being clear about your priorities at work and away from work.
Adjustment problems and Post Traumatic Stress: Recovery takes time and a supportive place to heal. Psychotherapy can help you recover faster, while strengthening your ability to handle challenges in the future.
Grief and Loss: Psychotherapy provides a safe place to grieve and recover. I understand that grief is deeply personal and that a therapist can help in different ways than family and friends.
Coping with medical conditions: With years of experience working in health care settings, I can help you understand how best to cope with illness and communicate your needs to others, including to your healthcare providers.
Young Adults: I designed and facilitated a Psychotherapy program for young adults at Kaiser Permanente and many college-age students have benefitted from working with me. Anxiety is common as this transition is both challenging and vitally important. Psychotherapy can help ease this transition in many ways. I understand and can help.
Couples: I have worked with many couples who want to better understand their patterns and how to be more connected. This work is rewarding when both partners are working to enhance the connection.
Additional Areas of Expertise: College students, Older Adults, Addictions.
